To configure DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) for Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES)

Establishing Easy DKIM for a verified domain identity entails configuring DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) to strengthen email authenticity and security.

1. Verify Your Domain in Amazon SES:

   – Access the Amazon SES console.

   – In the left navigation pane, select “Domains.”

   – Click the “Verify a New Domain” button.

   – Enter the domain you want to verify and choose “Verify This Domain.”

   – Amazon SES will generate a set of DNS records (a TXT record for domain verification).

2. Add a TXT Record to Your DNS Configuration:

   – Go to your DNS provider’s management console.

   – Create a new TXT record using the name and value provided by Amazon SES.

   – Wait for the DNS changes to propagate, which may take up to 72 hours.

3. Enable DKIM in Amazon SES:

   – In the Amazon SES console, navigate to the “Domains” section.

   – Select the domain you verified.

   – In the “DKIM” section, choose “Generate DKIM Settings.”

   – Amazon SES will generate three CNAME records for DKIM.

4. Add CNAME Records to Your DNS Configuration:

   – Return to your DNS provider’s management console.

   – Create three CNAME records using the name and value pairs provided by Amazon SES.

5. Verify DKIM in Amazon SES:

   – In the Amazon SES console, go back to the “Domains” section.

   – Select your domain.

   – In the DKIM section, check the status. It will initially show “Pending” until the DNS records

      have propagated.       

   – Once Amazon SES detects the DKIM records, the status will change to “Verified.”

6. Send DKIM-Signed Emails:

   – After the DKIM setup is complete, Amazon SES will automatically sign outgoing emails with  

      the DKIM signature.   

 7. To change the DKIM signing key length bits:

    – Open the Amazon SES console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ses /in the AWS Management Console.

   –  Navigate to the Configuration section in the navigation pane and select Verified identities.

   –  In the list of identities, choose the identity you want to change the DKIM signing key length for.

   –  Go to the Authentication tab, then navigate to the DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) section, and click on Edit.

   –  In the Advanced DKIM settings section, select either RSA_2048_BIT or RSA_1024_BIT from the DKIM signing key length dropdown menu.

Click Save to apply the changes.

By following these steps, you will have configured DKIM for your domain using Amazon SES, ensuring your emails are properly authenticated and less likely to be marked as spam.
