{"id":199,"date":"2021-03-18T11:57:24","date_gmt":"2021-03-18T11:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prodmarc.com\/knowledge\/?p=199"},"modified":"2023-11-28T11:41:47","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T11:41:47","slug":"dkim-configuration-for-salesforce-cloud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/knowledge.progist.net\/index.php\/2021\/03\/18\/dkim-configuration-for-salesforce-cloud\/","title":{"rendered":"DKIM configuration for Salesforce cloud"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Please follow the below two steps to configure DKIM for the Salesforce cloud<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.progist.net\/what-is-dkim-its-best-practices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"DKIM \">DKIM <\/a>keys from your Salesforce console.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publish two CNAME records for your custom domain in DNS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Activate DKIM signing in Salesforce (\u201cDKIM Key Details\u201d page).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Create DKIM keys from your Salesforce console<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From Setup, enter DKIM Keys in the Quick Find box, and then select DKIM Keys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Create New Key.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the RSA key size. Consider email recipient limitations and industry-specific security regulations when choosing the key size. (<strong>recommended value is 2048 bits<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Selector, enter a unique name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Alternate Selector, enter a unique name. The alternate selector allows Salesforce to auto-rotate your keys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your domain name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For domain match pattern, Provide a list of domain patterns separated by commas. The domain name must match these patterns before Salesforce signs an email with this DKIM key.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><kbd>Example.com<\/kbd>\u00a0&#8211; DomainOnly: Sign if sending domain matches at the domain level only (<kbd>example.com<\/kbd>, but not <kbd>mail.example.com<\/kbd>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><kbd>*.example.com<\/kbd>&nbsp;&#8211; SubdomainsOnly: Sign if sending domain matches at the subdomain level only (<kbd>mail.example.com<\/kbd>, but not <kbd>example.com<\/kbd>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><kbd>example.com,*.example.com<\/kbd>\u00a0&#8211; DomainAndSubdomains: Sign if sending domain matches at the domain and subdomain levels (<kbd>example.com<\/kbd>\u00a0and <kbd>mail.example.com<\/kbd>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Save.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Publish two CNAME records for your custom domain in DNS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your CNAME and alternate CNAME records appear on the DKIM Key Details page when the DNS publication is complete. It can take time for DNS publication to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activate DKIM signing in Salesforce<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select Activate the DKIM Key Details page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please refer to the below URL for further details<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.salesforce.com\/articleView?id=emailadmin_create_secure_dkim.htm&amp;type=5\">https:\/\/help.salesforce.com\/articleView?id=emailadmin_create_secure_dkim.htm&amp;type=5<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your Salesforce org was created before Winter \u201919 (if the console does not allow you to do above configuration steps), enable the critical update.
